One Golf Swing IS NOT the Answer.

Let’s face it. If every golf shot on the golf course is different, each golf swing HAS to be different to make each shot happen according to plan. So you probably think I’m nuts telling golfers that you need a different golf swing for each shot… Right?

What do you do now to adjust your swing to make different shots? Maybe change your setup, or adjust the length of your backswing, but the idea is to still use the same golf swing.

There’s a better way…Although nobody would ever teach it (but me), it is possible to have a basic golf swing that is infinitely adjustable to fit any shot as needed.

What I’m talking about so that I’m perfectly clear is to have THE SAME SETUP, but still adjust the golf swing to make a variety of shots.

Golf Blasphemy? It is if you’re an instructor teaching golfers to make just one golf swing, but it’s not if you’re a golfer out on the golf course who doesn’t want to remember a thousand different setup combinations to adjust your basic swing for different shots.

This is real, it’s simple, easy to remember, and most importantly, IT WORKS.

Tracy, just wanted to seconf Mike’s comments about mastering the processes you present; staying tuned up both mentally and physically is absolutely necessary. Each time you revisit a routine or process with the goal to enhance the feelings and activation of the visual feedback loop some little lesson or insight is achieved for example I have always been adept around the green (30 yards in), employing your chipping/pitching method with a slight release of the knees toward the target, I noticed that for me: only a very slight release combined with rotation of the upper body was needed. This seems to also be true with the “backing” move in transition during fuller swings.

    Hi Tracy

It’s been a long time since I last communicated. I hope all is well.

What Tracy teaches is so dam good it can make you lazy. You see by not changing a thing other than weight locations in the feet you can draw, fade and just about do pretty much what you want with the ball. It makes you feel invincible. However, if you want to exploit Tracy’s teaching to the full you need to keep yourself in shape and consistently practise his routines (something I forgot for a while). By doing this diligently you really get a heightened sense of your body through the process of feedback. Body sensations and physiological changes can become reversible keys that can expedite you path back to a good state if you lose your way on the golf course. For example I have a visual “defocus” key for optimising my putting stroke and a solar plexus key for precise swing tempo. These keys are not taught but result from being aware of your body as you carry out the principle focus as laid out in Tracy’s dynamic balance approach. There are others, for example the tension in the forearms and the precise position of the knees, but it is best if you experience these things for yourself. Anyway, I am straying from the point I want to make. That is I agree that for 95% of the time you do not need to change your set-up, but I have found that to optimise certain speciality shots a change in set-up can deliver a higher probability of realising a successful outcome, particularly with the short game. Again this is revealed through the process of dynamic balance combined with body awareness (feedback). What Tracy has achieved is truly remarkable in that he provides the framework in which you can take control of your own golf swing and once you understand the basics, you are only limited by how much effort you are willing to put into mastering what he teaches.

    Kindest regards

    Mike
